Transportation
Without a doubt, the cost of transport constitutes a large portion of the total landed cost of the goods. Transport costs, however, should not be beyond the control since after all it adds to the cost and may affect the buying decision of the buyer. Control of transport cost rests with the customer who insists upon selecting transport modes and routes to suit their needs most economically.
Freight transport is a key in the value chain EXIM business. With increased specialization production is being located further away from consumption or from the Export handling / Import handling port, rapidly increasing the demand for local transport.
Our dedicated fleet of vehicles provides economical, safe and fast movements of your goods to and from the loading / unloading port or any other desired move. We also provide On-Carriage service for the worldwide destination through our reliable network at the least cost.
Our decision to use a road transport for the whole or part of the transit, to a domestic or foreign destination is influenced by a number of factors:
Speed
Sometimes the transit time for over-the-border consignments can be shorter by road than by rail (or sometimes even by air). This is because the road transport controls the delivery of the goods right up to the final destination i.e. till door, which is not possible through sea or air movement.
Convenience of distribution
By road transport goods may be picked and delivered at the doors of the concerned or to a convenient point nearby. This is the unique feature of road transport
Freight Cost
Freight cost in respect of road freight rates are generally lower than those rates offered for carriage by air. However consideration should be given to the higher risk which cargo is exposed to when freighting goods by road.,
Safety
Road transport are riskier compared to other modes and it is worth noting that insurance cover for war and riots, is not available when goods are dispatched by road or rail freight.
